Shelby Jean Chesteen Ingle, born September 1, 1942, passed away at her Dandridge home Wednesday August 20, 2014.
She was an eighth generation native of Jefferson County and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Newport and a Francis Wylie Circle member. She retired from Dollywood after 10 years of service. She was an avid reader who loved to share her knowledge with others and loved gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy R. Ingle. Her parents Luther and Juanita Chesteen, brother Carl Chesteen and brother-in-law Junior Henderson.
She is survived by her children: Jesse Ingle of Dandridge, Jeanne Ingle of Sevierville, Bruce (Julia) Ingle of Sneedville, and Terri Ingle Maurcio of San Antonio, TX. Seven grandchildren: Haley Jane Hurst, Benny, Jodi, Byron, Katrina, Cindy, and Nikki. Twelve great grandchildren. Sisters: Debbie Chesteen (Jimmy) Davis and Patricia Chesteen Henderson. Sister-in-law Lillian Chesteen Gaines. Former son-in-law Vance Hurst and former daughter-in-law Shirley Cameron Ingle.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her loving caregiver and cousin, Karen Hutchinson and also a special thanks to Smoky Home Health and Hospice and Dr. David Aldijir and Dr. Keith Grey on UT Oncology Group.
It was Shelby’s request to be cremated. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be announced at a later date.
