Geraldine “Judy” Byrd Patterson, 54, of Newport, died Sunday morning in an automobile accident. She was preceded in death by her father, Asier Byrd. She is survived by her mother, Georgia Byrd of Sevierville; brother, Harold Byrd of Newport; sisters, Lucy Layman and Fern McCoig of Sevierville, Helen Denton of Jefferson City, and Audrey Shropshire of Dandridge; special friend, Jimmy Johnson of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Manes Funeral Chapel, with burial in the BurchÞeld Memorial Cemetery. The family received friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
