Darla Stevens Abbott, 39, of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Cosby, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 10, 2009, at her home. She was preceded in death by her father, John Stevens; grandfather, Clyde Sutton; and great-grandmother, Mexie Lynch. She is survived by her son, Drew Abbott; mother, Glenda Stevens; grandmother, Helen Sutton; sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Deano Valentine; and niece, Taylor Valentine, all of Cosby. A very special person in her life, Andy Abbott, of Winston-Salem, N.C., as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. She will be greatly missed by her second family at Myrtle Beach Manor, where she was employed for three years. At her request, her remains were cremated and her ashes scattered in the ocean at Cherry Grove Pier in South Carolina, on Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at sunset. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be made to the account of Jon Andrew "Drew" Abbott at National Bank of Tennessee to help with funeral expenses.
