(November 25, 1932 - May 14, 2011) U.S. Veteran Jennings (Choke) Dockery, age 78, of Newport, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 at his home. He was a veteran of The U S Navy. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Dockery. He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Lisa and Dan Roberts of Memphis; grandchildren, Jake, Evan, and Grace Roberts of Memphis; brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Louise Dockery of White Pine, Cisco and Betty Dockery of Newport; sister and brother-in-law Brenda and Donald Cody of White Pine; sisters-in-law, Ruth Ritchey, Eva Gray and Sharon Blazer; brother-in-law, Merle Templin; also several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Sunday, May 15, 2011 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will be held 10:00 am Monday, May 16, 2011 in Resthaven Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Sunday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral. In Lieu of flowers memorial may be made to the Newport Animal Shelter, 420 Humane Way, Newport, TN 37821.
