SMITH, JOY 'RHEA' - born February 29, 1936, relocated to her new heavenly home on Saturday March 12, 2005. She is a member of Oak City Baptist Church.
Joy is preceded in death by her mother, Nova Hicks Berrier and father, W.T. Bill Berrier of Seymour, husband George Rhea of Seymour and her much beloved sister-in- law, Mary Lee Berrier.
Joy is survived by her devoted husband, Elmer B. Smith of Seymour; her son, Robert "Rob" Rhea and wife Linda Diane of Lenoir City, TN; her daughter Linda Sue Jackson of Seymour; eldest brother Billy and Betty Berrier of Seymour. Joy is also survived by her twin brother, Rev. Roy Berrier and sister-in-law Debbie; 4 grandchildren: Gina 'Rhea' Walker and husband Steve of Knox Co., Carrie 'Rhea' Gibson and husband Mark of Sevierville, Jamie Jackson of Houston, TX, Rev. George Jackson and wife Chisa also of Houston, TX; 6 great grandchildren: Casey Williams, Matthew Williams, Julie Lowery, Brad Rhea Lowery, Robert Chase Gibson, Justus Rhea Jackson; numerous great nieces and nephews, step grandson Darryl Williams, and special and dedicated niece Mona Ledford.
Mrs. Smith is at Highland South, where the family will receive friends Sunday March 13, from 6-8:00 pm, with services following at 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Roy Berrier and Rev. Arlin Gurley will be officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 am Monday March 14, at Highland South Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be nephews: Larry Ledford, Joseph Berrier, Roy Berrier Jr., Tommy Berrier, Mike Berrier, Billy W. Berrier. Honorary pallbearers: Ricky Berrier, great grandsons, Jonathan Ledford.
