PEORIA HEIGHTS -- Robert Wade Benson, 61, of Friendsville, Tenn., formerly of Peoria Heights, died at 8:25 p.m. Monday, May 13, 1996,
at Colonial Hills Nursing Home in Maryville, Tenn.
Born Sept. 28, 1934, in Sevier County, Tenn., to Walter and Mollie Lewelling Benson, he married Sandra Andrews on Aug. 25, 1995, in Maryville. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Robert Wade Jr. of Omaha, Neb.; two daughters, Leola Flynn and Tina Benson, both of Maryville; four grandchildren; three brothers, Willard, Wayne and Loy; and several nieces and nephews.
He retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 29 years of service.
A veteran, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 1170 in Peoria.
Services and Masonic rites will be at 8 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home in Maryville. Visitation will be one hour before services. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Shady Grove Cemetery in Blount County, Tenn.
