Georgia Virl Banks, 80, of Dandridge, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the Jefferson County Nursing Home Franklin House. She was a member of Oak Hills Baptist Church and a retired cafeteria worker.
She was preceded in death by parents, Estia Lee and Clabe Loveday; granddaughter Ellen Damaras Banks; sister, Cotton Donahoo; and daughter-in-law, Pat Banks.
She is survived by sons and wives, Vernon and Regina Banks of Sevierville, Tenn., Neal and Angela Banks of Jefferson City, Tenn., and H.C. Banks of Knoxville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Deidra (Kris) Kaufman, David Campbell, Jonathan Yarber, Daniel Banks, Skylar Banks, Jessie Banks; great-grandson, Patrick Campbell; several nieces and nephews; sisters, Kathryne (Tom) Parrott of Rutledge, Lorine Galyon of Jefferson City, Tenn.; brothers, Jerry Loveday of Dandrige, Tenn. and James (Debbie) Loveday of Fla.
A special thanks to the Hospice and the staff at Jefferson County Nursing Home.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 28, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Fielden Chapel with the Reverend Brian Rhodes and Reverend Jimmy Norris officiating. Interment is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hill’s Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Fielden Funeral Home, New Market, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Hills Baptist Church, 1079 Devotie Road, Jefferson City, TN, 37760.
