Greeley James Banks, age 85 of Sevierville, passed away Thursday, May 04, 2006 at Ft. Sanders-Sevier Medical Center. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hester Banks; sisters Minnie Banks, Odessie Banks, Mae Dockery, and Vida Brickey; brothers Paul, Callie and John (J.C.) Banks; nieces Patty Lane, Barbara Livesay, Sherri Reagan; nephew Randy Banks.
Survivors:
Sister-in-law: Joanne Banks
Nieces: Christy Sagliano, Jane Ellen Jackson
Nephews: Gary and David Banks
Thirteen great-nieces and nephews
Greeley will be missed by his family and many special friends including John Cagle, Doris Helton and Judy Loveday.
Heaven will be brighter now with Greeley there.
Funeral service 7 PM Saturday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Reverend Leroy Parton and Reverend Dallas Shults officiating. Interment will be 2 PM Sunday in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Military honors provided by American Legion Post #104. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Saturday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
