BAKER , CLARENCE LEONARD - age 73, of Greenback, died at 3:43 a.m. Friday, January 29, 1999, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in World War II. He retired from Scruggs Restaurant Equipment. Preceded in death by parents, Clifford and Rena Baker ; two brothers; five sisters. Survivors: wife, Jeanette L . Copeland Baker ; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Rev. Richard Goble of Ootlewah, Tenn.; two grandsons, Steven and Daniel Goble; brother, Hugh E. Baker of Santee, S. C .; sister, Ellen Baker of Knoxville, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 8 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 1999, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Richard Goble and Rev. Larry Bradley officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday, February 1, 1999.
