Sam Lee Lawson, age 74 of Kodak, passed away at his home Saturday Evening August 5, 2006. Sam was born March 9, 1932 to Hobart and Angelina Lawson in Cades Cove. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict, and was retired from Vulcan Materials after 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Hobart and Angelina Lawson; son: Michael Smith; Sister: Louise Breeden; brothers: Clarence and Floyd Gregory and John and Luke Lawson.Survivors are his wife: Pansy Lawson; son and daughters in law: Steve and Kimmy Smith, son: Robert Lawson; daughters and sons in law: Wilma Smith and Louis Hudnell, Angie and Jim Christian, Teresa and Kevin Loveday; grandchildren: Ezra Sands and wife Wendy, James Kyte and Kasey Hodges, Isaac Loveday, Iris Loveday, and Daniel Smith; great grandchildren: Jarred Sands and Crystell Carmody; sister and brother in law: Christine and Bobby Holder; several brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews; special friends: Marynelle Hodges and Pebbles.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM Monday evening August 7, 2006 in the chapel of Rawlings Funeral Home With the Reverend Donald Lawson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Rawlings prior to the funeral service. Family and friends will gather Tuesday morning August 8, 2006 in the Providence Cemetery on Douglas Dam Rd at 10:00 AM for the Interment Service. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Legion Post #104 P.O. Box 4242 Sevierville, TN 37862-4242. Friends may send their condolences through our website at:
