Joe Edward Arwood Sr. age 73 of Farragut, formerly of South Knoxville and Roane County passed away early Wednesday morning, August 16, 2006 at Park West Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Joe retired from ORNL in 1994 with over 30 years of service and was a craft supervisor at the HIFR. He was a member of Cherokee Lodge # 728 F&AM and was a 32nd degree mason. Joe was a member of the International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local. He was an avid Vol fan and supporter, and loved to camp. Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Evelyn Bradburn Arwood; parents, Bruce and Mattie Wilkins Arwood; brother, Gene Arwood. Survivors: wife of 30 years, Edna Arwood; daughter, Vicky Harmon and husband, Mitchell Lemons of Kingston; sons, Joe Arwood Jr. and wife Kathy of Karns, James Arwood of Farragut; step son, Ricky Allen and wife Periza of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Joey, Katina, Jennifer, Nicky, Derick, Ryan, Keith, Klint, Travis and Kristy; 11 great grandchildren; brothers, Rev. Jack Arwood of Morristown and Benny Arwood of Detroit, MI; sisters, Mary Newman of Friendsville and Sherry Lowery of Crossville; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8p.m. Thursday in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel followed by a masonic service conferred by Cherokee Lodge. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Jack Arwood officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Friday at Zion's Chapel Cemetery in Louisville for graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 871 Weisgarber Road, Knoxville, TN 37909 or to the American Diabetes Association, 900 East Hill Avenue, Suite 240, Knoxville, TN 37915.
