Mr. Forest Ball, age 82, of Newport went to be with the Lord, Monday, April 18, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tilman Russell and Fannie Pack Ball; sisters, Lorea Lunsford of New Jersey, Ardith Tucker and Myrtle Arrowood of Newport; infant sister, Ollie May; brother, Harl Ball of White Pine.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Inez Campbell Ball; daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Robert Southerland of Parrottsville, sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Denese Ball, Billy and Rita Ball of Newport, Russell and Betty Ball of Dandrige, Harlan and Kathy Ball of Newport, Lynn and Twanna Ball of Newport; brothers, Horace Ball of Del Rio, Joye Ball of Newport; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Paul Hux of Newport, Opal and Major Coggins of Dandridge; sisters, Christine McGaha and Georgia Mantooth of Sevierville; special friend and brother-in-law, Robert Tucker; thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night at Manes Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., with funeral services following at 8 p.m. with Pastor Ransom Hall and Pastor Hal Kirk officiating. Burial will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Union Cemetery. Manes Funeral Home in charge.
