Whipple, age 56, of Newport, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Lou Whipple; brother, Randy Whipple; nephew, David Randall Strange; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernest and Myrtle Arrowood; nephew Ernie Arrowood; niece Mandy Arrowood; and brother-in-law, Doyle Arrowood. He was a loving husband, daddy, papaw, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife, Sheila Arrowood Whipple; his children, Trandy (David) Moskalski, Mark (Brandi) Whipple, Miranda (Chris) Shepherd and Misty Whipple (Dustin Gurthie); grandchildren, Kristin, Amber and Breanna Moskalski, Cole, Malia and Krisily Shepherd and Zion Gurthie; great grandchildren, Julie Pierce and Ahlaya Munyan; brother, Gary Whipple; sisters, Diane Whipple and Pat (Leonard) Hartsell; special cousin and loved like a brother, Bobby Gene (Monica) Brooks; brothers-in-law, Junior (Angeline), Vernon (Cheryl), Eugene (Brenda), Randall (Marcia) and Jimmy (Trudy) Arrowood; sisters-in-law, Zella Whitten, Diane Arrowood and Phyllis (Tommy) Britt; his family at Bent Creek Golf Village; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends too many to mention. Funeral services will be held 8:00 pm Sunday September 4, 2011 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ransom Hall and Rev. Beecher Lane officiating. Burial will be held 10:00 am Monday September 5, 2011 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Sunday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
