(January 12, 1942 - January 7, 2007) U.S. Veteran Doyle C. Arrowood, of Newport, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2007, at his home. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Arrowood, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Diana Rea Arrowood; daughter, Ginger Renea Arrowood and granddaughter, Emma Rhea Arrowood; brothers, Eugene Arrowood and wife Brenda, Randall Arrowood and wife Marsha, Vernon Arrowood and wife Cheryl, Jimmy Arrowood and wife Trudy, Junior Arrowood and wife Angeline; sisters, Phyllis Britt and husband Tommy, Sheila Whipple and husband Danny, and Zella Mae Whitten all of Newport; brother-in-law, Dot Ramsey, Jr. and wife Linda; sister-in-law, Dorothy Vess and late husband Fred Vess; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. The family would like to thank, Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice, with a special thank you to Tammy Francis, Gail Metcalf and Elena O’Bryon. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2007. The funeral will follow at 8:00 pm, in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Gorrell and Rev. Ransom Hall officiating. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 10, 2007 in Union Cemetery, with L/Cpl Charles C. Roberts DAV Chapter 102 conducting military rites.
