Deloris “Cookie” Forrester, age 65, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Glennie Gunter Forrester; brother, Ealon Harwell; and sister, Juanita Jenkins. She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Mary Forrester of Newport, Bud and Wanda Forrester of Knoxville, Kenneth and Reba Forrester of Pensacola, Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law, Valda and Jimmy Gregg, Jolene and Billy Parker, and Wanda Hicks of Newport; special nephews, Barry, Brad, Blake, and Lil B.J., and other nieces and nephews. The family wants to say a special thank you to Smoky Mountain Home Health and all her other caregivers. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Friday, April 6, 2012 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Alfred Ball, Rev. John Brown and Rev. Fred Cagle officiating. Interment will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 7, 2012 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday, April 6, 2012 at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
