Riden, Alda Juanita Williams age 67 of Maryville passed away Saturday, November 12, 2005 at St. Mary’s Hospice after a long battle with cancer. She was born on January 13, 1938 to Oliver Ray and Myrtle Dixon Williams. Alda graduated from Porter High School in 1956 and married her high school sweetheart, Bill Riden on February 22, 1957. She was a member of Wildwood Baptist Church. Alda was preceded in death by her father, Oliver Williams; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doyle and Eunice Riden. Survivors include husband, William E. Riden; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Charlie Barnard, son Darryl Riden; grandchildren, Rachel Barnard, Taylor and Caitlin Riden; mother, Myrtle Williams Ledbetter, brothers and sisters-in-law, Oliver “Junior” and Sue Williams, Bud and Carolyn Williams, Larry and Sue Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Wilda and Kenneth Cornett; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bobbie and Jack Carpenter, Marilyn and Mike Smith. Step-sister and brother-in-law; Aven and Ron Fleming, step-brother and sister-in-law; Dennis and Sandy Ledbetter. Alda is also loved by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, clients, and business associates. Alda was a Realtor/Broker for 29 years in Blount County. Funeral service will be 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2005 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for the Interment. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to “Christ Powered Ministries”, 3221 Landmark Drive, Morristown, Tn, 37814. Alda was a founding board member of this non-profit student evangelism ministry, of which her son, Darryl, is president. Alda’s greatest passion was to see young people come to know Christ.
