Cora Strange Parrott, 96, of Newport, passed away Saturday evening, October 9, 2004, at Mariner Health of Newport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lowell Parrott; daughter, Laura Parrott Thomas; and parents, George and Martha Hale Strange.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Rita McNabb, of Newport, and Ron Thomas, of Cookeville, and great-grandson, Michael Thomas, of Cookeville.
Other survivors include her sister-in-law, Joyce Baker, of Norfolk, Va.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gordon and Myrtle Parrott, of Sevierville; many friends, including special friends, Gene Deering and Lois Parker, both of White Pine; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Rick Spell officiating.
Family and friends will meet at Resthaven Memorial Gardens at 9:45 a.m., Wednesday morning, October 13, 2004, for the 10:00 a.m. interment.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2004, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home.
