Shirley K. Leslie, 81 of Scottish Highlands, Leesburg, Florida, passed away on Wednesday August 26, 2009. She was born in Oak Park, Illinois and moved here from Cincinnati, Ohio in 1989. She was a member of the New Hope Presbyterian Church of Eustis and a graduate of Hope College of Holland, Michigan. She was survived by her husband Craig, they had been married for sixty years, also surviving were her children, Dwight (Beth) Leslie of Lakeland, Florida, Nancy (Rick) Atchison of Ottawa, Ontario, Bill (Betsy) Leslie of Cincinnati, Ohio and Linda Leslie also of Cincinnati, her grandchildren Sarah Leslie, Burton Leslie, Scott Leslie, Craig Leslie, Mary Leslie and Stephen Leslie. Memorial services were held in the New Hope Presbyterian Church of Eustis at 11 AM Monday August 31, 2009. Rev. Richard Burguet officiated.The family received friends at the church on Sunday August 30, 2009, from 3 until 5 PM. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur N. Knol of Wheaton, Ill., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Miss Shirley Jane Knol, to Craig W. Leslie, son of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Leslie, 1223 Garner avenue.
Miss Knol is a senior at Hope College, Holland, Mich., and is president of Sigma Iota Beta sorority.
Mr. Leslie is a graduate of Nott Terrace high school and served in the U.S. Navy. He attended Hope College and is now studying Radio and Communications at Veterans Vocational Institute at Troy.
The wedding will take place in July.
