Mrs. Eve Jean Clevenger, age 79, of Newport left with Jesus to go home on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. She was retired from Wal-Mart, Inc. She was a faithful member of Edgemont Church of God until the illnesses of her daughter, then herself, and her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband James H. Clevenger; daughter Kathy Lynn Clevenger; mother and father Ben and Vernie Epley; brothers Doc Epley, Bill Jack Epley, and Ben Epley, Jr.; and sisters Dora Jane Keys, Mary Elizabeth Samples, and Annie Butler. She is survived by her sisters Emily P. Francis and Lillie Mae Holt; sisters-in-law Mary Edith Epley and Carolyn Epley; brother-in-law Jimmy Butler; special niece and caregiver Treva Ford; special niece Jan McMahan; special nephew Donnie (Teressa) Francis; special nephew and mechanic Harold Keys; special great-nephew Tony (Wendy) Ford; special great-great-niece and –nephew Lauren and Chandler Ford. Additional survivors include several other special nieces and nephews, many friends, and other relatives. Funerl services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home with Rev. J. D. Sisk officiating. The family will meet at 10:45 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2011, at the Dunn Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. interment.
