Joyce Elaine Shults Fine, age 57, of Newport went to be with her Lord Friday, March 4, 2005 at Mariner Health Care following a lengthy illness. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and worked at Lakeway Regional Hospital in Morristown before her illness. She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Dewayne Fine; and father, Arnie Shults; sister, Cecile Shults also preceded. Joyce is survived by her husband of 40 years Roger Fine of Newport; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Silas McCurry of Newport; mother, Nadine Shults of Newport; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Judy and Wilbur Jenkins of Newport, Jean Black and Lisa Mathis; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Bud and Linda Shults of Morristown and Jerry Shults and Fiancée Bea Williams. Joyce will also be missed by special nephews, Scotty Black, Joe and wife Caprice Black; niece, Lana Black and special friends, Perry Mathis, Pat Moss, Donna Martin and Cindy Parton, and all the staff of Mariner Health and Smokey Moutain Health Care. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 6, 2005 from 6-8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will be conducted Monday, March 7, 2005 at Victory Baptist Church at 2 p.m. Rev. Jerry Raines and Rev. Sonny Webb will officiate. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery. Joyce will lie in state at Victory Baptist Church from 1-2 p.m. before the service.
