Frances McCravey Miller, age 88, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at her home after a lengthy illness. She was a dedicated Christian and member of Northport Baptist Church for 55 years. She was preceded in death by her husband George Miller, Jr. Together, they owned and operated Miller’s Furniture and Auction for approximately 50 years. She was also preceded in death by her brother William McCravey; sisters Irene Hurst and Iva Blair. She is survived by her son George (Donnie) Miller and wife Kathy; daughters Sharon Kear and Sandra Taylor of Newport, Debbie Hommel and husband Ronnie of Parrottsville; grandchildren Randy (Kathy) Keys, Dustin (Monica) and Derek Hommel, Christopher Miller (Courtney), Kristie York, Whitney Shaver (Dale), and Andy Miller; great grandchildren Ashley, Aspenn, and Randall Keys, Courtney Miller, Leslie York, Halle and Logan Pierce Hommel, great- great grandson James Scott Reed, several nieces and nephews and was expecting a great granddaughter next month. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Thursday, August 12, 2010 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, the funeral will follow at 8:00 pm, with Rev. Wade Holbrook and Rev. James Suggs officiating. Burial will be 10:00 am Friday, August 13, 2010 in Union Cemetery.
