Ward, Herbert Franklin –age 96, of Knoxville, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at St. Mary’s Residential Hospice. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. He was of the Baptist faith. Retired from Weigels and enjoyed gardening and baseball. Preceded in death by parents, Robert Newton Ward and Nancy Manis Ward; son, Buddy Ward; several brothers and sisters.
Survivors
Survived by wife, Edith L. Ward; son, Gene Ward; daughters, Gayal Emert and Frankie Mynatt; sons-in-law, Kenneth Emert and Denny Mynatt; daughter-in-law, Audrey Ward; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Blaine and Ralph Ward; sisters, Nellie Lowe, Jessie Hines and Corene Hedrick.
Service
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Friday in the chapel of Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway, with funeral service to follow at 7 PM, Rev. Tom Caylor officiating. Family and friends will meet at Middlecreek Cemetery, Sevierville, on Saturday for 1 PM graveside services.
