He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Dovie Woody; daughter, Maxine Henderson; brothers, Emmette, Jess and Trevette Woody; sisters, Sylvia Ogle, Phoebe Williamson, Ida Woody, Pearl Hicks and Irene Phillips. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sarah Woody of Cosby; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Deborah Woody of Cosby, Gary and Janice Woody of Newport; daughter and son-in-law, Donna Sue and Jimmy McCarter of Cosby; son-in-law, Gary Henderson of Hartford; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Lonnie McGaha of Cosby; grandsons, Matthew Woody, Collin Woody, Josh Henderson and his wife Lindsay; granddaughter, Lindsey Shults and her husband Joe (Scooter); also many other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 20, 2102 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Leon Large and Rev. Jerry Raines officiating. Burial will be 11:00 am Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in Waters-Large Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
