Robert C. Walker, age 83 of Sevierville, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015. He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Robert worked at Cherokee Textile Mills for 47 years and later at SAS Outlet Store. He enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Dorothy Walker; and his brother, Elliott Walker.
Robert is survived by his adoring wife of 59 years, Wanda Walker; sons, David Walker and wife, Debbie, and Eddie Walker and wife, Holly; grandchildren, Ginger McCrory and husband, Ronnie, Noah, Dustyn and Kaiya Walker; great-grandchildren, Logan Trotter, Brayden Ray and Avery McCrory; brother, George Walker and wife, Shirley, of Nashville; sister-in-law, Carolyn Walker; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friends, James Smelcer and DeWayne Burchfiel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Freedom Baptist Church Missions.
The family will receive friends from 1 PM to 3:30 PM Sunday with the funeral service to follow at 3:30 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville with Rev. Ed Parton, Rev. Wayne Cook and Rev. Dale Ellenburg officiating. Graveside service 11 AM Monday at Atchley's Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens, Pigeon Forge with Rev. Ed Parton and Noah Walker officiating.
