Deloras “Dee” Grooms Walker, 89, of Alcoa, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 14, 2012. Deloras was a member of Walland United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Walker; son, R.B. Walker; parents, Rosa and Edgar Grooms; sisters and brothers, Lena and Harold Inman Sr, Jack and Louise Grooms, Cecil and Martha Grooms, and Edith Grooms; and brother-in-law, Clarence R. Dalton Sr. She is survived by her sister and best friend, Wilhelmina “Billie” Dalton; several nieces and nephews; special friends, John and Caroline Manning; and her wonderful church family from Walland United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. Family and friends will gather 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at West Millers Cove Cemetery for the graveside service, Mr. Benny Dalton officiating. Family and friends may call at their convenience from 8:00 AM until 5:00 PM Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
