Daisy Sims, age 95, of Farragut, passed away peacefully Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at Summitt View Nursing Home. She was born in Maryville, Tennessee, to the late Luther and Maude Trotter. Her family moved to Sevierville, Tennessee. She taught school at Whites Community and Midway. The family moved to the Wildwood Community and lived there until she could no longer care for herself. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George C. Sims; brothers, Dr. Frank Trotter and Ray Trotter; sister, Mildred Elder; sister-in-law, Anna Trotter; and brother-in-law, Joe Elder. Mrs. Sims was a long time member of Logan’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Wildwood. She was a loving wife and mother. She cherished her family and loved having an active part in the lives of her loved ones. Mrs. Sims is survived by four children: Billy C. Sims and wife, Louise, of Mt. Dora, Florida, Carolyn Martin and husband, Edwin, of Maryville, Marguerite Wardlaw of Friendsville, and Patsy Cross of Farragut; seven grandchildren, Roger Sims and wife, Pam, of Kerry, North Carolina, Robin Sims Wilson and husband, William, of Maryville, Dr. Delaine Anderson of Dunwoody, Georgia, Chris Anderson of Maryville, Ricky Wardlaw of Friendsville, Clay Wardlaw of Friendsville, and Lee Cross and wife, Jennifer, of Knoxville; and four great-grandchildren, Amy and Wesley Sims of Maryville, Bailey Wilson of Maryville, and Jackson David Cross of Farragut. She is also survived by her dear brother, Troy C. Trotter of Oak Ridge; sister-in-law, Mary Trotter of Knoxville; special friend, Sue Wade of Maryville; and extended family including many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. David Webster officiating. Entombment service to follow at Sherwood Mausoleum.
