William Pinkney Starks, (better known as Billy) 89, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs Paul Dycus on Wednesday. He is survived by five daughters; Mrs Eula Dycus and Mrs Emma Lewis of Cohutta, Mrs Kate Gresham of Oak Ridge Tenn., Mrs Nola Crain of Perry Fla., and Mrs. Beatrice Thomas of Chattanooga Tenn.; four sons, Ben Starks of Dalton, Joe and George Starks of Cohutta and Clay Starks of Perry Fla.; one half-brother, Jim Stancil of Pecan Gap Texas; one half-sister, Mrs A.M. Bennett of Cleveland Tenn; one stepson, Harley Ogle of Cleveland Ohio. 37 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from Hopewell Baptist Church, east of Cohutta, Friday afternoon. Rev Earnest Arms and Rev Lon Gooden officiated. Burial was in the Concord Cemetery with Kenemar Brothers in charge of funeral arrangements.
