Jessie Chyle Swann, age 77 of Sevierville, passed away Monday, April 11, 2005.
Mr. Swann was a graduate of Maury High School in Dandridge and earned an Associates Degree in Pre Law from Tennessee Wesleyan. Mr. Swann served in the United States Navy for 3 years during World War II, retired as Chief Warrant Officer 2 from the United States Army after 24 years of service in military intelligence and served in Germany, Korea and Vietnam. In 1972 he founded Sevier Lock and Safe Company and retired from the business in 1998, which continues to be operated by the Swann family. He was a founding member of the Tennessee Organization of Locksmiths and a member of Associated Locksmiths of America. Mr. Swann was a member of Murphy’s Chapel United Methodist Church. He was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, the Eastern Star, a 32nd degree Mason, and a Shriner.
Mr. Swann was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Lynn Allen Swann, mother Jessie Elizabeth Meachum, father Chyle Meachum, adoptive mother Grace Underwood Swann Hardy, and step-brother James P. Swann.

Sons: Sgt. Richard C. Swann (US Army Ret.) and wife Mary G. Swann, Col. Steven W. Swann, MD, FACS and wife Gail D. Swann
Step-children: Carol Anne Jamison, William Peters, Jr., Elizabeth Peters
Grandchildren: Jennifer E., Nathaniel L., Jacob A., and Katherine A. Swann, Christopher D. Russell, Jamie C. Flynn
Great-granddaughter: Caitlyn Helt
Half-brother: Norman Meachum
Graveside service and interment 1 PM Friday in Shiloh Cemetery with full military honors.
