McCammon, Samuel Darwin, Sr., age 92, of Kodak, went to be with the Lord and loved ones on Tuesday, March 15, 2016. Sam was a member of Kodak United Methodist Church and a WWII Veteran in the Pacific Campaign on the U.S.S. Sigourney. Sam retired as a tool and die maker at Robertshaw after 50 years of service, was a lifetime farmer and started selling produce at Market Square in the 1930's. Preceded by parents, Karl and Mary (Hilton)McCammon; wife, Willie Pearl McCammon; 3 brothers, Lincoln, Bill, and Hilton; and sister, Elizabeth. Survived by loving wife of 29 years, Trena Swaggerty McCammon; daughter and son-in-law, Missy and Mickey Mantooth; sons and daughters-in-law, Milton and Doreen McCammon, Jim and Rhonda McCammon, Sammy McCammon, Jr. and fiancé Bonnie Cupp; stepson, Kent Woods; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Lucy Ellis, and Mirrell and Henry Ford; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Betty McCammon; sister-in-law and husband, Sarah and Don Monday, brother-in-law and wife, Kyle and Nancy Swaggerty; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Marie Russell, Janie Henry, and Jimmy Gammon. Special thanks to Homestead Caregivers, and Deann Shepherd. The family will receive friends Friday, March 18, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Berry Funeral Home on Chapman Highway with a service to follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Brad Hyde officiating. Family and friends will meet at Woodlawn Cemetery Saturday, March 19, 2016 for an 11:00am graveside service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the preservation of McCammon Cemetery founded in 1808, Treasurer: Betty McCammon, 1220 Tipton Station Road Knoxville, TN 37920 or other charities of your choice.
