He was a member of Rocky Branch Bethel Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Sarah Williams Coulter; brothers, Clell, Raymond, and Ovia Coulter; sisters, Christine Dyer, Kathleen Lively, Lela Boring, Wetonia Hurst, Violet Joyner, Flossie Prevatt, and two infant sisters. Survivors include brother, Earl Coulter of Florida; sisters, Betty June Wilburn of Maryville, Jerleen Blevins of Georgia, and Sarah Lou Cummings of Maryville; special friends and caretakers, Mildred Coulter, Margaret Garner, Wanda Myers, and Brooke Myers all of Walland; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 21, 2011 at Rocky Branch Bethel Cemetery for graveside service and interment, Rev. Tim Martin officiating.
