Carolyn was born April 23, 1949 in Sevierville to parents Willie Junior Spurling and Gladys Ruth Ogle Spurling Grewe. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and will be missed by all. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father, Paul Franklyn Grewe. She is survived by her two sons, Stephen DeRayne Robinson II and wife Susan and Robin Daniel Robinson; sister, Peggy June Spurling Sturdivant Swick; brothers, David Lee Spurling and wife Kathy, Jerry Paul Spurling and wife Tammy, Timothy Wayne Spurling and wife Robin, Kenneth Ray Spurling & spouse Richard Lee Robillard, and James Harrison Spurling. Nieces and nephews; James Allen Sturdivant, Yana Keturah Sturdivant Sundeleaf, Derek Mathew Spurling, Christopher William Spurling-Hill, Rachel Elizabeth Spurling Lawshe, Timothy Ryan Spurling, & Sarah Ashley Spurling; and several grandchildren. The family requests donations in Carolyn's memory be made to The Friends of the Smokies (http://friendsofthesmokies.org/). The Great Smoky Mountain National Park was truly a place she loved to visit and spend time with family and friends. A private Memorial Service will be held by the family.
