Dorothy Jean Cate, age 82 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2008, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a very active member of Monte Vista Baptist Church where she was a member of the Gleaner’s Sunday School Class. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister-in-law who is dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Cate; parents, John C. and Ruby Snyder.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Mary Cate; granddaughter and husband, Amy and Paul Lisenby of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; grandson and wife, John and Marie Cate; sisters-in-law, Willie Cate of Knoxville, Lena Holbert of Kodak; brothers-in-law, Wilburn Cate and wife Barbara of Knoxville, John Cate and wife Betty of Dandridge; special cousin, Bonnie Cate; special friends, Marie Payne and Florene Sloan, members of Monte Vista Gleaners Class and Birthday Lunch Bunch.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mantooth and Rev. Bob Dalton officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Kodak, TN.
