She attended Madison Avenue Baptist Church and worked for over 40 years at Rockford Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julie Sloan and Benjamin Long; husband, Thomas John Ray; infant son, Bobby Ray; sisters, Mrs. Camie Ogle and Alice Sloan; brothers, Paul and Cecil Sloan. She is survived by her two children, daughter, Thelma Humphrys of Maryville and son, Johnny Ray and wife, Daryl of Maryville; five grandchildren, Debbie and husband Vernon Steele of Louisville, Johnny Ray, Jr. and wife, Karen of Walland, Ashley Ray, Danyelle Ray and Thomas Ray all of Maryville; two great grandchildren, Morgan and Steven Ray of Walland; nephew, Dole Sloan and wife Carolyn of Walland; special mention, Carlos Hitson. Funeral service will be at 7:30 Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in the Smith West Chapel with Rev. Glenn Cummings officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at East Miller’s Cove Cemetery for the Interment.
