SIMS, DAVE H. - age 87, of Knoxville, passed away May 4, 2005 at Baptist Hospital. He was a member of New Hopewell Baptist Church; and was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during World War II. Mr. Sims had retired from The University of Tennessee having worked as a Maintenance Supervisor.
Preceded in death by parents; two brothers Grady and Frank Sims granddaughter Kristina Sims, and step-son Bob Keck.
He is survived by wife, Mattie Sims of Knoxville; sons Steve Sims and wife Marcella of Walland, Edwin Sims of Maryville; and step-son and daughter-in-law Bill and Ann Keck of Knoxville; grandchildren Chris, Chad and Perrae Sims, Jason and Cindy Keck and Missy Cox. He is also survived by a brother Herman Sims and wife Edith of Knoxville and a sister Anna Kate Julian of Knoxville; daughter-in-law Pam Sims and sister-in-law Mary Sims.
Family and friends will meet 12:45 p.m. Friday at Highland South Memorial Park for a 1:00 p.m., graveside service with Rev. Joel Tilson officiating. Full military honors will be provided by East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Highland South Memorial Park Funerals and Cremations 9010 E. Simpson Rd. 573-7300.
