SHARP, DOROTHY WEATHERLY - age 88, a long time resident of Sevier County passed away September 27, 1999 at the Baptist Health Care Center in Lenoir City, Tennessee. A native of North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Dr. Bruce Weatherly and Floy Siler England . She was a graduate of Maryville College, where she met her husband, Joseph A. Sharp. A homemaker and schoolteacher, she lived in Sevier County for many years. She taught school in Sevier County at Park Road School, Sevier Elementary, and Sevierville Middle School. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sevierville, where she sang in the choir, and served as a Deacon and an Elder. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph A. Sharp, Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Mary Jean Smith of Knoxville; son, David A. Sharp of Beaufort, SC; grandchildren, John and Andrew Watts, Mary Elizabeth and Katherine Sharp; sisters, Marjorie Ostborg, Matsie Anderson, and Mary Weatherly; brother, James England . Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 1 at Shiloh Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Lufkin officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, September 30 at Rawlings Funeral Home.
