He was preceded in death by his Mother Mary McCallie Keener Shanton. Father Fred Shultz Shanton Sr., brother Fred Shultz Shanton Jr., sister Ester Templeton Shanton Pauelka, wife Peggy Jane Wakefield Shanton. Mr. Shanton is survived by, son Samuel Keener Shanton Jr., daughter Sandra Lee Shanton Canter. Grand children Samuel Keener Shanton III, Stephanie Scott Shanton, Billy James Shanton, Giles Shanton, and Ryan Joseph Canter. Great grandchildren, Kara-Lee Denman Canter, and Kinsley Kate Canter. Nephews, Fred Shanton III, Charles Shanton, Richard Shanton, David Shanton, and Bobby Pauelka. Nieces, Beth Shanton, Dr. Susan Milloy, and Karen Hartigan, Brother-in-law, Jack Pauelka, and special friend, Jewell Morgan. The family will receive friends Monday evening January 22, 2007 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in the chapel of Rawlings Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 8:00 PM with the Reverend Jonathan Hatcher officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10:45 AM Tuesday January 23, 2007 in the Little Cove Cemetery for the Interment Service beginning at 11:00 AM.
