Chesney, Delois (Lois) Loveday – age 70 of Knoxville passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at her home following an extended illness. Member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church and former member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was a 1960 graduate of Carter High School and attended Baptist Hospital Nursing School. Lois was a lady with many talents. She was an expert seamstress and home decorator. She loved painting, traveling in their motor home, working crossword puzzles, and camping. She also loved working with the church sewing group. Preceded in death by father, Doyle Loveday; brother, Jim; and brother-in-law, John K. Watson. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her high school sweetheart and husband of fifty years, Dwayne Chesney; daughter, Jennifer Hackler; son, Roger (Kristi); grandchildren, Sheena and Danielle Chesney, Tori Hayes, Levi and Lilly Hackler; mother, Dorothy Loveday; sisters, Delpha Watson, Linda (Chuck) Schubert; brother, Dwight Loveday, and Dennis (Ruthie) Loveday; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. John R. Blake, Jr. and Dr. Dennis Harris for their years of loving care and kindness. Funeral services will be held 7:00 PM Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Mount Harmony Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials be made in her name to the Mount Harmony Baptist Church Building Fund, 6500 Strawberry Plains Pike, Knoxville, TN 37914. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 PM on Sunday at Oak Grove Cemetery in Kodak for a 2:00 PM interment. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM Saturday at the church.
