Patsy Scates Tweed, age 63 of Sevierville, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, February 8, 2007. Patsy was a unique and very special person who will be missed by family and friends until they meet again in Heaven.
During her illness, her husband never left her side. She was a very special person who deserved very special care. Nursing her daily with much love were her niece Melissa, her children Leslie, Rick, Donnie, and Phyllis and Caleb. She was blessed to have them along with her mother and other loved ones, family members, and friends who looked after her and prayed for her. May God bless them all and her Baptist Hospice nurses Estelle and April.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles E. Scates; niece Tarah Michelle Tidwell; grandparents Gene and Flossie Tweed, Jessie and Hattie Scates; James and Nellie (Iman McMahan) Williams; several aunts, uncles and cousins and very special friends who were all there to greet her in Heaven along with her Heavenly Father.
Patsy is leaving behind her:
Beloved husband of 39 years: Donald (Don) Tweed;
Three children whom she loved greatly: Sons Rick Martin and wife Lesa, Donnie Tweed and wife Brenda, and wonderful daughter Leslie Tweed;
Precious mother: Dicie Scates;
Special step-children: Sandra McAmis and husband Lyle, Becky Waddell and husband Jonathan of Greeneville, TN;
Beautiful grandchildren: Caleb Tweed, Tyler and Katelyn Martin;
Step-grandchildren: Chad and wife Jessica, and Ashley of Greeneville, TN, Courtney Campbell and Garrett Beeler;
Great-grandson: Westin Smith of Greeneville, TN;
Special nephew, who was like a son to her: Steve Parrott and his son Chase;
Nieces and nephews: Tripp and Brittany Tidwell, Chad Tidwell, Phyllis Sissum (who was like a daughter), Melissa Henderson, Chris, Jason, and Jennifer Scates, Debbie Pierson Jagasia, and Karen Morgan and their families;
Sisters: Freda Scates Henderson, Bobbie Pierson, both of Sevierville; Kathy Scates Tidwell of Memphis;
Brother: Jim Scates of Morristown, TN;
Aunts: Nina Scates and Beulah Scates of Knoxville;
Many very special friends and loved ones to include: parents of her daughter-in-law Lesa, Helen and E.C. Peeler, Charles and Joann McFall and their family, Claudine Green, Ruth Matthews, and Kacie Hoostal of Georgia;
Many cousins of the Scates and Williams’ families, of whom she spoke often and with love;
Sister-in-law: Patsy Tuntland and her sisters Debbie, Carolyn and Ruth
Brothers-in-law: Hugh, Randy, David, Keith and Steve Tweed and their families
Funeral service 8 PM Saturday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Maples officiating. Interment 2 PM Sunday in Pollard Cemetery. Pallbearers are Scott Catlett, Steve Tweed, Randy Tweed, Lyle McAmis, Hugh Tweed, and Keith Tweed. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Saturday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
