HICKMAN, DELMAR BURL - age 91, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital. He was a U.S. Army WW II Veteran. Burl was retired from J. Allen Smith Co., of Knoxville. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by parents; brother, Claude Hickman; brother-in-law, Maurice (Doc) Cate. Burl is survived by loving wife, of 63 years, Erma (Pryor) Hickman; sister, Stella Cate; special nephews, Garry and Kathy Cate and Claude and Judy Hickman; special friend, Barbara Monday; several special nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 1, 2010, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Marbledale Baptist Church. Service will follow at 8:00 p.m., with Rev. Danny Neal and Rev. Earl Wilson officiating. Family and friends will meet Wednesday, June 2, 2010, at Cedar Grove Baptist Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Marbledale Baptist Church.
