McCARTER , ROBERT A., 74, of Clearwater, died Monday (May 19, 1997) at Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor. He was born in Copperhill, Tenn., and came here in 1983 from New Orleans, where he worked as an importer and retailer. Locally he was a computer programer for A.C. Nielson Co., Dunedin. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was a pianist and songwriter and a member of Sons of the American Revolution. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Rosemary; two daughters, Kenna Van Nortwick, Clearwater, and Ann Jamieson, Hinsdale, Ill.; three sons, Robert, Port Tobacco, Md., Chris, New Orleans, and Mark, Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Martha Moyer, Rittman, Ohio, and Caroline Walker, Turtletown, Tenn.; a brother, Donald, Mandeville, La.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
