Viola Ellison, age 80, of Del Rio, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at Baptist Hospital of Cocke County. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Aulden Ellison; parents, Luther and Ollie James; son, J.B. Ellison; daughter, Margaret Ellison; grandsons, Scotty Ellison and William Roy Hartsell; sister, Cleo Metcalf; and son-in-law, Roy Hartsell. She is survived by her children, Arlene Holt and husband, Freddie Gene, of Newport; Peggy Hartsell, of Newport; Carolyn Wills and husband, Patrick, and Roger Lee Ellison, of Newport; Ronnie Ellison, of Del Rio; and Lester Ellison and wife, Kim, of Newport; step-children, James Ellison, of Wyoming; Venus Ellison and Peggy Jean Caldwell, both of South Carolina; Jonita Lunsford, of Newport; sisters, Bonnie Ellison, of Parrottsville, and Mablelee Ellison, of Newport; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 3, 2005, at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Haney officiating, with burial in Ellison Family Cemetery.
