Martha Lee Rawlings Cerra, 75, died peacefully on March 30 at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, FL. Her wonderful husband of 7 years Ernest Cerra and her family and friends will greatly miss her loving smile.
Martha was born October 9, 1930 in Sevierville, TN to the late Edgar Lee Rawlings, Jr. and Gladys Fox Rawlings. She graduated from Sevier County High School and maintained close friendships with 3 special couples, Betty and Gene Burgin, Betty and Amos Large and Jack and Janice Frost. Martha made her home in Jamaica Bay in Fort Myers, FL. She loved the beach and spending time with her family and friends, she especially enjoyed attending the worship services held in Jamaica Bay.
Her husband Ernest Cerra, her children and step-children Patti Morton and John, Michael Hill and Martha, JoAnn Pierce and Jim, Peter Cerra, Susan Donaldson and Donnie, her grandchildren and step-grandchildren; Amy Crisp, Joanna Heinz, and Eric, Lee Ann Hill, Joel Danner and Gaby, Theresa Wood, and Darrell, Angela Marlow and Jeff, Jonathan and Jason Pierce, Christopher and Nicholas Donaldson; her great-grandchildren, Hunter, Beau, Josie, Myka, Makayla, Quinn, Suzanna, Taylor, and Mimi will all cherish the loved they shared.
Martha is also survived by one brother Edgar Lee Rawlings, III and Jane, 2 brothers-in-law Joe Cerra and Helen and Gene Cerra and Rona and many nieces and nephews.
Our comfort is to know God has said "Welcome Home Martha"
A memorial and celebration will be held in Jamaica Bay on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
