McCoig, age 41, of Newport, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2002, at University of Tennessee Hospital. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnny and Ida McCoig and Creed and Cordia Hance; stepfather, William Webb; niece, Crystal Michelle Thomas; and nephew, Michael Shawn Burdette. He is survived by his mother, Eula Mae Webb, of Newport; father and stepmother, Ray and Louise McCoig, of Sevierville; sister, Diane McCoig, of Newport; niece, Cindy James, of Newport; great nephew, Jacob James, of Newport; great niece, Destiny James, of Newport; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 15, 2002, at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Williamson and Rev. Andy Miller officiating. Interment will be in the France Cemetery. Family received friends 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Manes Funeral Home is in charge.
