U.S. Veteran Douglas Gentry, 69, of Del Rio, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN. He was a veteran having served in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Pearl Gentry; sister, Christine Cutshall; niece, Lisa Johnson and brother-in-law, Ransom Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sexton Gentry of Del Rio; daughter, Nicole Gentry of Garden City, MI; sisters, Peggy Boles and Zula Johnson of Marshall, NC; special nephews, Gary, Michael and Eddie Johnson; also nephews, Kenneth and David Boles; nieces, Sherry Metcalf and Diane Gentry; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gordon and Janice Sexton, Del Rio, Prentice and Michele Sexton, Dandridge, Harold Sexton, Newport, Rev. L. S. Sexton and Alicia of Warren, MI; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Lois and Oliver Seay of Little Rock, Ark, Anna Dean Foster, Newport and Edith Carlisle of Newport; best friends, Glen Shelton, Marshall, NC, and Sharyl O’Keefe of Garden City, MI. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, May 9, 2011 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. L. S. Sexton and Rev. Bill Murr officiating. Burial will follow in Mulberry Gap Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Sunday, May 8, 2011 at Manes Funeral Home. in lieu of flowers donation may be made to Celebrate Life in care of Michele Sexton 824 Tucker Place Way, Daandridge, Tn 37725
