Harold J. Jensen, age 77 of Sevierville, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2014. He was born January 6, 1937 in Gordon, Nebraska. His youth was spent in Leadville, Colorado and Lead, South Dakota. Harold attended the University of South Dakota (1955-1958) where he majored in German and Spanish. He also attended Yale University Air Force Military Language School where he studied Chinese from 1959-1960. Harold served in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962 as Airman First Class and was stationed as a Chinese Translator in Okinawa for 18 months. He relocated to Gatlinburg in 1964 to own and manage the photo/concession business atop the Gatlinburg Sky Lift for 36 years until retirement in 2000. Harold was a true believer in Jesus Christ and served others selflessly. His favorite bible verse was 1st John 1:9. He attended First Baptist Church of Sevierville and Pathways Church. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Harold's retirement was more active than his professional life. He was an energetic supporter of all his grandchildren's activities and was known for his presence and videographing at each event.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold E. and Dorothy Helen Jensen; brother, Bobby Jensen and infant brother, Hans Arnold Jensen.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the charity of your choice, First Baptist Church of Sevierville or Pathways Church.
Funeral service 5 PM Sunday at Pathways Church with Pastor Brent Freeman officiating. Interment 11 AM Monday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 3-5 PM Sunday at Pathways Church. Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville (www.atchleyfuneralhome.com)
