Jack Allen Gorrell, age 78, of Newport, passed away Friday, July 25, 2003. He was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses and Mae Bell Gorrell and brother, George Gorrell. He is survived by his wife, Marie Gorrell, of Newport; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Zula Gorrell, of Newport, Gene and Debbie Gorrell, of Newport, Carl and Bernice Gorrell, of Chestnut Hill, and Ulysses and Betty Gorrell, of Newport; sister, Vera Freeman, of South Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lee Anna and Andy Spisak, of MI and Francis and George Lane, of Newport; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Alvin Watts officiating, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
