Paul Emert Cate, 86, of Kodak, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 12, 2005 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
As a member of Beech Springs Baptist Church, Paul served his Lord and community. All during his life he was tied to the land which provided his livelihood and his love for the land.
Preceding Paul in death are his parents, Bruce and Belle Huffaker Cate and sister, Louise Lennie Cate.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Felker Cate; children, Peggy Harrell of Kodak, Eddie Cate and wife Phyllis of Kodak; grandchildren, Paula Perry and husband Larry, Lori Worley and husband Travis, Rita Stallings and husband Gary, Bobby Ledbetter; great-grandchildren, Sean Dyer, Zachary Perry and Nate Worley. Besides the immediate family, Paul will be missed by many special friends whose lives he has touched through the years.
Service will be 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Beech Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Stinnet and Rev. Brandon Cate officiating. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14 at Beech Springs Baptist Church.
Gary Cate, Joe Love, Dwight Russell, Ronnie Beaman, Leon Drinnen, and Norman Long have been honored to serve as pallbearers for Paul. The Deacons of Beech Springs Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the Beech Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, Douglas Dam Road, Kodak, TN 37764.
