HAYES, W. R. - 93 of New Market, born and raised in Kodak, passed away Friday June 25, 2010 at UT Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith and a US Army veteran of WW II, a retired farmer and retired employee of the BP service station in New Market. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ina Cate Hayes and 3 infant children. Survived by children and their spouses, Judy and Edgar James, Willa Dean and Robert Huffaker, Bob and Ann Hayes Jack and Earlene Hayes; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister in law, Mrs. Charles (Ann) Hayes; several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express special thanks to UT Medical Staff, the Chaplains and Palliative group for their loving care. The family will be at the home of Judy and Edgar James. Funeral service 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Beech Springs Baptist Church in Kodak with the Rev. Richie Hayes officiating. The body will lie in state from 1:30 to 2: p.m. before services at the church. Interment will follow in Beech Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday 6-8 p.m. at Fielden Funeral Home New Market.
