KING, EDITH ALLEN - 77 of Oak Ridge, died Monday, August 21, 2006 at the Methodist Medical Center. Born October 19, 1928 in Benton, Tennessee, daughter of Fornia and Madie Lee Morgan Allen. Long-time seamstress and sales clerk with JC Penney Co. Member of First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge where she has served in many capacities. Taught Sunday School for 35 years and current member of Friendship Sunday School Class. Had also been active with the Keenagers and the Kids Corner. Enjoyed traveling, sewing, quilting and flower gardening. Avid fan of the Oak Ridge Wildcats football team, as well as the UT Vols and the Lady Vols. Survived by: husband of 62 years, Dayton Clarence King Sr.; sons, Dayton King Jr. and wife Cheryl of Albuquerque, NM, Don King and wife Sandy of Benton, TN and Doug King and wife Shelba of Oak Ridge; daughter, Diane Williams and husband Roger of Oak Ridge; brother, Amos Allen and wife Cathy of Cleveland, TN; sister, Jean Brayn of Benton, TN; 9 grandchildren, Mike and Michelle King of Albuquerque, NM, Chad King of Nashville, Lisa Brewer of Cleveland, Dannette King of Delano, Kathy Peak and husband Jeremy and Christy Harvey and husband Courtney, all of Knoxville and John Williams and Mary Jo King of Oak Ridge; 5 great grandchildren, Travis and Missy Brewer, Nathan Higginbotham, Tanner King and Shelby Lillard. Funeral services are Thursday, August 24, 2006 at 10:00am at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Memorials can be made to: First Baptist Church Agape Center or designated for the Keenagers, 1101 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN, 37830.
