Larry Payne, age 57, of Maryville, beloved Husband, Daddy, and Papaw, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, August 2, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Larry will be greatly missed by his family and friends; but he is with his Lord and Savior and all his family that went home before him. Larry was baptized on Saturday, July 28, 2012. He was retired from Vulcan Materials. He was preceded in death by his parents, Geneva and Bill Payne; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wallace and Laura Payne; uncle, Charles Stallion; and grandparents, Carrie and Ida Stallion. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Cindy Payne; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Fred Shields of Maryville; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Whitney Payne of Knoxville; his three pride and joy grandchildren, Autumn Shields, Logan Shields, and Jameson Payne; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Carla Payne, Gary and Liz Payne, Steve and Donna Payne, Sam Payme, and Michael Williamson all of Maryville, and Bill and Cindy Williamson of Vonore; sisters and brother-in-law, Tammy Henry of Maryville, Linda of Spring City, and Shirley and Tom Dale of Pennsylvania; brothers-in-law and wives, Larry “LD” and Linda Payne and Mark and Shirley Payne of Maryville and Roger and Donna Payne of Greenback; sisters-in-law and husband, Sheila and Conard Webb of Townsend and Karen Sizemore of Maryville; aunt and uncle, FD and Juanita Williams and Alma Stallion; special friends, Mark and Lisa Davids, Earl and Bernalee True and family of Maryville; and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the nurses at UT Cancer Center and Cindy’s co-workers at Master Craft. Funeral service will be held 8:00 PM Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Nick Payne, Steve Payne, and Robert Young officiating. Family and friends will gather 2:00 PM Sunday at Old Kagley’s Chapel Cemetery for the interment.
